Shot in 2018 on Greg Callaghan’s home trails near Wicklow, Ireland, during his Cube Action Team years, this profile tracks the work behind a rider who became a real factor in the Enduro World Series.
In 2018, I photographed a Bike Magazine profile with Irish enduro racer Greg Callaghan on the trails he grew up riding near Wicklow. The piece sits inside Greg’s Cube Action Team chapter, a stretch that started in 2015 and ran through the end of 2019.
By the time we met up, the results were already there. Callaghan had proven he could win at the top level, including an Enduro World Series victory on home ground in Ireland in 2015. What the story focuses on instead is the infrastructure behind those outcomes: family, local trails, and the routine that turns familiarity into speed.
The video team followed Greg through the places that shaped him, then let the riding do the talking. Bike’s edit was built around the idea that a career is rarely a straight line. It is a series of repetitions, small choices, and support systems that do not show up in a results sheet. That framework matched what I saw through the camera: an athlete who looks most comfortable when the work is quiet and the trail is moving fast.
